MeDryDive (Creating personalized dry drive experiences for the promotion of Mediterranean Underwater Cultural Heritage sites as distinctive tourism destinations) project, by means of a transnational thematic tourist product “Dive in the Past”, entails the creation of tourism products on selected tourist attractions in Italy, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro with core thematic CCI in Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH) sites. The mission is to create and offer personalized CCI (Cultural and Creative Industry) apps (dry apps, AR apps, serious games, videos) combined with diving activities and glass bottom boats ad cruises in UCH sites. MeDryDive enriches the experience of tourists (both divers and non-divers) and stimulate their interest on Med/EU Underwater Heritage and diving (potentially).
The project is implemented in the framework of the European COSME Work Programme 2018 “Supporting the Development and Promotion of Transnational Thematic Tourism Products: Exploiting Synergies between Tourism and Cultural and Creative Industries”. It started in March 2019, its duration is 24 months and it is co-funded by the COSME Programme of the European Union. Partners of the project are: ATLANTIS CONSULTING SA, MAZI Events & travel LTD, 3D Research Srl, CAMPI FLEGREI DIVING CENTER, NOVENA izdavastvo, trgovina i usluge d.o.o., Budva Diving DOO, Bashkia Kavaje.
MeDryDive integrates ICT/CCI applications (Augmented Reality apps/photos/videos/3D models/serious games) into the development of new transnational thematic tourism product in the Med (with a duplication potential in all European countries). The product, namely “Dive in the Past”, with a combination of packages (e.g. Italy-Greece 4-day package) will be created and promoted to entail the creation/revitalization of tourism product on selected tourist attractions in Italy, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro with core thematic in Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH). The product will target divers and non-divers globally and it will include:
- A dryDive serious game based on the reuse of 3D models already available for the partners thanks to previous projects (iMARECulture, BLUEMED, VISAS, ADRIAS).
- An AR app that will allow to see in public space already available for the partners thanks to previous projects (iMARECulture, BLUEMED, VISAS, ADRIAS).
- A promotional video of the diving activities available in the pilot sites. The video will use available footages integrated with new ones. The goal of the video is to stimulate the interest in diving tours across the cultural sites in the Med.
